Cat Abnormal Urination: What It May Mean and How Imaging Can Help
4 Paws Imaging Centers FL LLC provides advanced abdominal ultrasound imaging to help your veterinarian see what is happening inside your pet’s body. We do not provide primary or emergency treatment; our role is to deliver the diagnostic imaging your vet needs to guide your pet’s care.
Common Causes of Abnormal Urination
Straining to urinate, frequent urination, accidents, or changes in urine color or amount can all be signs of a urinary or kidney issue worth imaging.
- Bladder stones or crystals
- Urinary tract infection
- Kidney disease
- Bladder masses or polyps
- Prostate issues (in male dogs)

How Ultrasound Helps Diagnose This
Ultrasound gives a clear, direct view of the bladder, kidneys, and surrounding structures to identify the source of the problem.
- Abdominal ultrasound focused on the bladder and kidneys
- Checking for stones, sediment, thickened bladder walls, or masses
- Evaluating kidney structure for signs of disease
What Happens Next
We share our findings with your cat's veterinarian, who will determine next steps based on the imaging results.
